The weather is cooling down and that means it will be the time for rodents to get out of the wet and cold and find shelter, so here are some simple preventive measures for potential mouse and rat problems.
A. Keep all food in sealed containers. Do not leave pet food out overnight. If you have any leaky pipes get them fix, rodent need water.
B. Use kill traps like snap or electric traps were possible but also use live traps. If you are thinking of using rodenticides, don’t. Leave that one up to the pro’s.
C. Repair and cover any entry holes that rodents can get into your house, if a rodent’s head can fit through a small opening, then the rest of the body will follow.
D. Cut back trees and bushes at least 6 feet from the roof lines of your house. Remove any ivy on your house as rodent both eat it and use it to access windows and attics.
E Remove clutter from the exterior walls of your house and make sure trash cans are well sealed.
